circle of

There are days I wish I had a circle of friends.  I miss the "crowd" of friends.  The group in which there are never fewer than two in tow.  I'm back at it again, socially floating.

Rob's playing in a golf tournament up north.  The kids and I decided to meet a friend at the Irish-Italian parade in town.  That was different.  One day, I will remember to always have shopping bags on hand.  I guess all the parades here you need a shopping bag.  People are throwing out beads and goodies at EVERY parade.  Yeah,  I didn't have a bag on me besides my purse and ended up hauling a very heavy purse of beads and goodies back to the car.  It was like Mardi Gras in Hattiesburg.  It was cute and the weather couldn't have been better.  We ran into a few familiar faces and enjoyed lunch afterward.  Oh, and I even had an extra kid in tow.  : )

Tonight, the festivities continue.  I will be taking the kids back for a kids carnival and concert in the park.  I hope to see more faces I know and enjoy the evening.  For now, I need to get some house work done so I can rest tomorrow.

Yesterday, I signed Landan up for soccer.  It's through a local church (where one of his friends, who is also a neighbor) attends.  They have a great sports and youth program. It's not a "competitive" league but it's something for now.  He's just excited to  be doing something.  Kavan met the youth pastor and wants to check out their services and events.  He'll be attending tomorrow.  Once I see how the kids are enjoying it, I might ask Rob what his thoughts are. : )

Work...I have my moments.  It's going ok.  I'm scared about being jobless soon with the government budget cuts.  I'm hearing one thing from my division and another thing from my boss.  Yes, one is telling me to look out and my the other one is saying they need me.  I wish it was the other way around.  Besides that, things are going well.  I have one spouse who is pretty much out to get me.  I'm happy to know my bosses have my back and love having ME doing the job.

Mattie is back at training for a few days.  I can't wait to start the next level.  She's doing well on the leash with her commands but like a TV plug, you take it off and well, she doesn't operate.  lol

Jessie, poor jessie.  I wish she'd hurry and heal.  We forgot to take her in on Thursday.  They were going to check her and possibly do surgery to close up the elbow.  Now we have to wait til monday.  We got a new Attorney at work this week.  After helping him with some stuff, he told me to keep a tab of how many favors he owes me.  Let's just say he's looking into a few things for me and we will discuss next week.  I am curious on what we should be doing.  This hasn't been easy and the longer it's been taking, the harder it's becoming to think and handle.

Thank you Aunt J for your donation to the Relay For Life.  I've got a busy month ahead.  We are hosting a Bunco Tournament on March 31.  I hope it goes well.  From there, I'm going to be rocking and rolling for April 29, our Relay.  I'm excited but yet soo nervous!
