Today, at the café, business was gloomy and much less interesting than the bright weather going on outside. I tried to do some writing, but I've got to a point where there's a lot of major reworking to be done (a lot of the early chapters have been slight POV adjustments and cutting, nothing big). But now I'm up to a key re-write and it's gnawing my brain. And tomorrow is Saturday, meaning I won't get a lot of chance to sit down and write properly. Sunday will probably be a productive day, I expect.

Though I would ask something, a quick poll I need.
My editor says that I should change 'Bears' and 'Lizards' like I did Penguins and Dragons, into something different. Pengs is a made up word that I like. Draig is the welsh for Dragon.
As for Bear... Well, they speak a Scotts Gaelic. The Gaelic for Bear is mathan - which doesn't seem to have the same ring to it. I've been digging through a scottish dictionary for a suitable word and have narrowed it down to these three...

Poll Bears! Oh smashing!

If you can think of any better names, I'd like to hear them. :(

The other problem is the Lizards. Now, given that 'The Dinosaur Prince' is a central theme and mystery, the whole 'terrible lizard' thing needs preserving. My editor sugests using 'sauros' and I'm leaning towards agreeing because there's no real Hebrew word for Lizard (there's an obscure word that is assumed to be lizard but no one is quite sure). The explanation I have in mind is that 'sauros' is a derogatory term from the Air Keepers (who speak a sort of ancient Greek) that got used more and more until it became the norm. Especially after the exile. Oh, anyone who knows greek, can you tell me, is the singular 'sauro' and the plural 'sauros'? If so, I've done it wrong a bit. Not a big deal, but thought I'd check that...

In other news...

There's a thread on Gallifrye Base about 'The Doctor's worst nightmare' that amuses me greatly. Here are a few of my favourites...

And, of course, this was my submission...

Yeah, sorry about that one...

In other, other news...

My parents found out I have a copy of the Koran in my book collection. My mother was not best pleased, especially as it is sat right next to a king james bible. Goodness knows what they'll think when the copy of the bhagavad-gita I've ordered from amazon shows up. XD
