Boxing Day

Dec 26, 2004 00:11

the day after xmas, the day of some feast for a guy called st. stephen, supposedly the first christian martyr. it is also the day i happen to be updating my dilapidated livejournal. friday, i think it was; the eve of xmas eve. me and my parents went xmas shopping. we took it easy this year. money is a little tight, so we had to settle. i got four or five long sleeved shirts. my brother got a nice shirt to wear during church the next day. my mom got herself a shirt or two. my dad got nothing. my dad and i picked out a videogame for my sister. my brother's girlfriend was bought a fifty dollar card to hot topic (cuz she's practically part of the family). I also got a haircut, but don't freak out. it's not a big deal. it's endearing the first couple of times when people get scurred cuz your awesome hair was shortened a little (come on. two inches isn't as bad as it could be), but after it just gets annoying. my brother's girlfriend stopped by later and dropped off a gift for us. the best movie in the world. Napoleon Dynamite. Deb is hawtt. xmas eve was boring enough. me and my family went to church at 3:30 for the xmas eve service. since my dad and brother were in the band for the church, and my mom was in the choir, we had to stay for the rest of the services too. the last service was at 8:30pm. good thing about having nothing to do for hours on end, i got to get ahead in the book my english class is reading. not that anyone else will actual read the damned book. the great gatsby, he isn't really all that great. it's just rich people being stupid, cheating on their wives and husbands. this is why i hate humanity; a book like this is considered one of the greatest novels in american literature. xmas kinda sucked. it was boring. you know what else i hate? someone asks you what you got for xmas, and when you tell them, they're like "that's it?" or even worse: this girl i know, who will remain nameless, mostly because i can't remember her name, asked me what i got. naturally, i told her, and she fucking snorted. bitch. i'm sorry if not everyone can afford a nice xmas every fucking year. i went to church again, and no one i knew was there, except my ex,jessie, who i didn't exactly feel like hanging out with. so i read a book. different book this time. isaac asimov' i, robot. different than the movie. it's good. after church, i went home for a little bit, ate some food, and me and my family, including my bro's girlfriend, went to see lemony snicket's series of unfortunate events. it was funny. i liked the credits, and the girl playing violet was cute as a button. and i will leave you with that.
