Am running out of ideas for subject headings. Oh dears.
Anywho, not terribly much to report. I've contemplated doing a wedding blog the past few days, but don't really see the purpose in it, as it will only be around for the next 9 months or so, then I'll have no need for it again. And I'm still considering changing this over to a different host, but have yet to do so. Decisions I don't really care about, but still think about from time to time. Fun stuffs.
Other than that, the beginning of this week was somewhat rough. Definitely feeling the overload of homework, but once I get a bunch of the readings knocked out, I generally feel better and not quite as behind. Hard to believe I'm already in my 3rd week of grad classes... now that I've got the hang of things (more or less), I'm starting to realize what aspects I do and don't enjoy. Not to make too many assertions too soon, but Archives is definitely turning out to be the favorite class so far. I'm seeing myself in this field, for sure now. I'm understanding the materials, enjoying them, engaging in them, thinking about them from all sorts of perspectives. I'm even seeing my other classes in context of this one. Which is a good thing, keeps me going, especially when I'm having a more difficult time grasping the concepts from the other classes (mostly Access & Retrieval in this case, but there's lots of good that comes out of that class, too).
Now that I'm in the school mode again, I've gotten back to some knitting. I made an adorable little apple two nights ago. First time I've ever started and finished a project in one day! Usually I get sidetracked or am requested elsewhere. It was nice to be able to concentrate solely on the knitting for a while. Bought the pumpkin yarn yesterday, so should be able to get started on that soon, too. Then more apples and pumpkins until I've had my fill of them. :)
Wedding related: Bought ribbon for invitations yesterday. Excited about that. Now I just need to finish designing the invitations, and figure out how we're going to print them. Looks like at this point, I'm really getting into the whole DIY bride thing, which I'm loving. Just wish I had more time/resources to work on it now. But we're still about 9 months out, so I've got plenty of time. I figure I'll get a HUGE chunk of the planning knocked out when M is home for Christmas, and we can plan things together. She's creative. She's crafty. She's my MOH, so of course I'm making her help me with it all. If it were up to me, I'd be making the cupcakes myself, but I know that's way too much work for my kitchen. I don't have the counter space or storage. :( If it were also up to me, we'd be having an outdoor reception, but the middle of June in St. Louis somehow makes that a not-wise idea. Go figure. Instead, I'll just have to have my Outdoors Indoors Luxury Barbeque with Finger Buffet. Channeling the Hyacinth? OH. YEAH. :D
