Now that classes have gone on for a while, I'm starting to get the hang of things. It seems that the postings aren't quite as overwhelming, and I'm not spending all day catching up on them anymore. I still have a bunch of readings to do for next week, but that's what the rest of the weekend is for..... right?
One perk I've found to the online classes is that I have a bit more flexibility in doing all my readings. This is good, especially since I have about 7-8 for one class each week. Not having to have them read by Monday for discussion is nice. If I can't get through all of them until Tuesday, that's fine. And it's much less stressful than reading for Settje's class ever was in that respect. I can't tell you how many times I was trying to cram the last 100 pages in the hour before night class started. I kind of miss that, but I'm also kind of glad those days are over.
Also, I'm really finding that I'm fitting in well with this crowd. I'm getting some positive feedback on my comments and posts, which is always nice for those of us who value the opinions of others. So, fellow classmates telling me "You've made some great points! This is a totally practical and useful idea" kind of makes my day. Especially when I don't always feel like I know what I'm talking about (aka Info Access & Retrieval).
In other, less dorky news (haha, as if that exists), I went for a walk yesterday because it had finally stopped raining for a bit and I needed to get out of the house and away from homework for a while. I planned on just doing 2 miles, and not running, but wound up running a bit anyway. Maybe I'll make it more of an actual effort one of these days. ANYWAY, I was excited because I saw a leaf on the sidewalk. Not just any leaf. A ginko leaf. And how did I know this was a ginko leaf? Because I changed the style of my journal the other day to the ginko leaves. :) And then I had Kung Fu Panda running through my head.
Tigress: "It is said that the Dragon Warrior can go for months without eating, surviving on the dew of a single ginko leaf and the energy of the universe."
Oh yeah, and I got my new computer. Currently accepting applications for name suggestions. Otto Harrassowitz II just doesn't seem to cut it.
