I needed to go to the bank this morning to get a cashier's check to pay my credit card bill. What I needed to do first was to deposit a check, and some cash, and then withdraw the amount to pay off the credit card (well, most of it). Okay, I first make out a deposit slip on which a date is required, but then I used 2024 as the year instead of 2025. So, I had to make out a new deposit slip. Following that I had to make a withdrawal slip in the amount for the cashier's check. Yep; I wrote down the wrong year once again and had to make out another new slip. This happens to me every year. A guy told me one time that at or near the end of each year, I should get a stack of deposit and withdrawal slips and write the next year's year on them. That way I wouldn't find this dilemma every year. Great advice, yes? Do I follow it? No! Sometimes people just won't listen, and I'm one of them.
Kathy did laundry this morning and afterwards she dumped all of mine on the bed to be folded and put away. Socks, underwear, t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, and handkerchiefs. Oh, and also some winter garments commonly known as Long Johns. There's a method to my madness when I do this, rather than random folding as I reach for one item after another. So, I started with all the long and short sleeve t-shirts, followed by the long johns and underwear, and finally folding the handkerchiefs. That left me with only the socks, which needed to be paired up by color and style (ankle or full length). By the time this task was completed my back ached and it was time for lunch. And my usual afternoon nap. All of these things brought me to where I am now, at my computer. First to print out a couple of certificates of appreciation, and now to collect a few thoughts here on my journal.
It will be supper time in a few minutes so this will be it for today.
