Yesterday Jenny and I baked cookies. I found the recipe in my mom's recipe box, an old index card with my grandmother's name in the upper corner.

The cookies tasted like my childhood. They were delicious. I want more. :D

I was just remembering when I was really little and I loved to sit on my big brother's shoulders. I adored that game. I'd make him walk all around the house and every time we got to a doorway he would say "Duck!" and I'd have to reply "Quack!"

I should teach my nieces and nephew that game. It's a happy memory to have.

This morning I got a tour of KU courtesy of my cousin. Then Mike and I started driving, making a point to avoid the interstates because they're le boring in Kansas. We hoped for more interesting things than we found, but alas. There was an Underground Salt Museum in Hutchinson which actually looked pretty kickass, but it's not open on Mondays. ( Read more... )

News Item #1: I am now an official Hufflepuff! I even have a scarf, thanks to my wonderful brother!

News Item #2: I am driving from MN back to CA with said brother, leaving well... within the hour. So I'll probably be MIA for a few days. :D I'll pick up somewhere between 1 and 3 new states on this trip. Yay!

So internet tonight was no big deal. The drive wasn't too bad. We got out of LA before 11 and didn't stop until Primm, where we had lunch.
