Yeah, me and updates don't mesh all that well. I kindasorta tend to, well, forget.
So big update. I guess.
BIRTHDAY! Ee. I'm 21. It rocked. My mum flew in Thursday. Friday she went out with a friend and abandoned me to my mountain of schoolwork. Saturday we went shopping, which was fun. Checked out cameras/iPods. Sunday was spent at my uncle's, which was sad because we got there at 10 (and told them we were getting there at 10) and Emma was nowhere to be seen.
'Twas odd. But we got her back. And we did lunch at Baja Fresh...where they messed up our order. Dude. There was no CHEESE on my tacos. Or on my mom's. Now, I know I'm weird 'cause I don't want anything but the meat and cheese but I still want the cheese! It was weird.
Monday she went to class with me. And proceeded to tell my Journalism teacher about my birthday. And my teacher, of course, asked how old. Which meant when I went in Wednesday she announced to the class that I'd just celebrated my 21st. I find that I'm blushing a lot in that class, whether it's 'cause my article is being read or because my birthday is being announced or whatever. I tend to blush and slink down in my seat whenever attention comes my way.
Everyone came on campus then. Which was kinda cool. Big lunch in the Tea Shop. Emma clung to me and almost cut of circulation in my arm. It was cute. Kinda. Thankfully, the Tea Shop knows me, or so it seems. Because when I, my brother, and my cousin Will all wanted our hamburgers plain - they understood. Which rocked.
'Cause that night at dinner? The restaurant messed up my spaghetti. When we were trying to celebrate three birthdays that all happened in the week. (My mom's, mine, and Emma's.) Poopieheads.
Tuesday was the big birthday. American Lit was cancelled, and while it's sad that my teacher was hurt over Thanksgiving I'm a horrible person who wanted to jump in joy at the prospect of no class. Since I got back to the house so early, my parents took me out to a nice Birthday lunch.
Where they screwed up. The waiter ignored us for like 20 minutes and then my dad talked to the Manager and she took over as our waitress and comped part of the meal and gave us a gift card. Once we got the meal, it was good. And I got free cake for my birthday. ....Though they did insist on singing. Erg.
They sang to me at dinner too. Stupid restaurants and their stupid singing. I swear, I only suffer it for the chocolate! Dinner was good. Old Spaghetti Factory. Mizithra. Yum. Mike joined us, we all had a drink and toasted. I got carded and they went over my ID with a fine-toothed comb. But Mike got carded too so that amused me.
Thanksgiving rolled around. I went camera happy, it was ok. I mean, I am allowed to have fun with my purdy new camera that I got for my birthday. Plus, I got some adorable pics. I also went LOST happy and borrowed Mike's DVDs of Season 1. I got through the first four discs (16 episodes) in two days. Rock on. Lost is way freakier than I realized and I thought it was pretty messed up to begin with.
I stalled on homework a little more when I found out Jer was in town and decided to bug the living daylights out of him. And now I'm writing a long, drawn out entry to avoid it. I really am talented at this procrastination thing.
And I ran out of things to say. That's what happens when I get distracted. Off I go to stare at shiny objects then.
