(no subject)

I see Quentin's posts getting a lot of heat. I thought, why not give him a little break and take some of that heat myself? So, upon thinking that, I decided to post some good things about good ol' President Bush. Yeah, most of you are probably wonder: This guy is Indian, why does he care about Bush and American politics?? Well, firstly, I could ask every other non-American who delves into America's politics; secondly, all the other country's politics are boring; thirdly, I love to argue; fourthly, Bush has also been the subject of a lot negative controversy, it's time to give him a break; lastly, I'm fucking bored off my ass and need something to do! :D So, without further ado, I present all the good things Bush has done, and why he is a good president. (I am aware that after this most people will hate me, but I would just like to say that I don't give two shits about American politics. I just like debating. Therefore, the views expressed here aren't my political views. I just want the president who will make it easy for international students to get admission into top universities in the States to be elected. That's all.)

1) Very assertive and gets the job done. He sets a goal, and sees to it; and does what ever is necessary to get it done.

2) He effectively protected his nation while it was under attack. Honestly, if Kerry or someone else is elected in place of him, the US will get fucked. As soon as power is handed over to someone else, that person won't be able to carry the plan in progress as well as Bush. Hence, subjecting the US to all sorts of terrorist attacks, plunging the economy into recession, and whatnot.

3) Went in and removed a brutal dictator, Saddam Hussein (a dictator, who committed MASS genocide; we're talking in the range of 300,000 - 1,000,000. A dictator who was the FIRST to use chemical weapons on a large scale since WWI; who used WMDs against HIS OWN FUCKING PEOPLE; who constantly defied the UN; violated cease fire treaties; tried to murder the US president; who constantly tortured people by ripping out their tongues, ripping out their eyeballs completely intact from their eye-sockets, pouring gasoline down people's throats and lighting them on fire. I MEAN CMON! WTF! And people actually think BUSH IS THE BAD GUY?? WAKE UP!).

4) Went in and removed a brutal regime -- the Taliban.

5) Secured women's rights in both nations, Afghanistan and Iraq, where women were previously suppressed by males!

6) Most people don't know this, but there have been less terrorist activity since the overthrowing of Hussein.

7) He did an excellent job right after 9/11 for being a new and novice president; he responded to the attacks very well.

8) After the economy had been crippled by the 9/11 attacks, he effectively brought it back up, raised employment, increased GDP, increase aggregate demand, and raised aggregate supply (it's nearly impossible to raise aggregate supply; hence, he MUST be commended on that).

9) Pulling out of Kyoto -- this treaty was stupid as hell. Something needs to be done to try to stem global warming (if that is at all possible), but Kyoto was nothing but a European attempt to gain global competitiveness by hurting America's economy.  This treaty would subject the US to the same standards as unindustrialized nations, would have cost billions a year, and retarded their economy.

10) He ended dividend taxes. So many people are tragically misinformed about this. It's not a tax break for the rich; the truly rich don't care so much about dividends as do middle class stockholders. Stocks that provide a steady source of income to the holder via dividends is the only way that many middle to lower class Americans can afford to invest.

11) To get a complete picture of the economy, he did the following:
-Economy/Tax cuts. The US was in a recession and after the tax cuts, almost all economic indicators have improved and many are at their best levels for a while.
-Unemployment is at what it was during the tech boom of the mid 90s, and it seems as if hundreds of thousands of jobs are being created month after month.
-Home ownership is at record levels
-Inflation is low WHILE interest rates are low (for all you economists, you KNOW that’s a badass thing to have done!).
-Disposable income is up.
-Stock markets are doing well.
-Almost all economists including Greenspan say that the US is in a strong sustained recovery.
-Industrial output and productivity is going up at the fastest pace in three decades.

12) America deposing Hussein will put pressure on other tyrants. Let me give an example for you guys: Libya, who was a staunch Anti-US foe -- who committed terrorist attacks like the Lockerbee hijacking -- suddenly agreed to try and normalize relations with the US and Europe, and more importantly, agreed to stop its nuclear weapons program and allow full UN inspections.

Well, I could say more, but I'm not a political activist nor do I want to come off as one. Therefore, I shall stop.
