I took a bus back from Penang to Singapore. It was a very long journey back. Luckily I managed to sleep a bit on board.

Last weekend, I was in Penang for the Merdeka holiday (National Day). Malaysia celebrated their 50th year of independence on 31 Aug. I went out with my family for dinner at this Thai restaurant, Chilli Corner. The food was reasonably priced and they were quite good. It is located in a new upcoming development area around Burmah Rd.

We decided to stay away from the busy town of Kuta. There are a couple of areas to choose from and we decided to stay in Seminyak. Not too far off from the airport and to Kuta town (if we need to do some shopping).

We were up in Ubud to see some of our friends who stayed there.
We hired a car for the day and the driver drove us around Ubud. Nice place. The air is fresh and clean. Weather here is slightly cooler as it is on much higher ground.

On our way, we stopped at this temple. There are many temples around in Bali.
We can't go into this temple.

It was my first trip to Bali. I've heard so much about it from friends whom have been there so many times. Why I resisted going to Bali? I'm not sure. Just finished packing my bag for my trip back to Penang. Will be leaving on the eve of V day. I will be spending Chinese New Year with my mum and dad (for almost 2 weeks). And my sis too.
