Troy’s head felt heavy on his shoulders as he sat down on the cool concrete of her front porch. Parched tongue ran along chapped lips as he waited. He was impractically early; he knew he could have gone home to catch an hour of sleep while she met with Taylor. Fever induced chills ran through his protesting muscles as he tightened the grip he had on his warm-up jacket.
“Wildcat?”
He managed a smile through the aches that threatened to over power him. Her hands felt blissfully cool on either side of his face.
And her lips tasted like strawberries.
