Author's Notes: This is my first time slashing Troy and Chad, usually I'm all about the Ryan and Chad. :] There are four drabbles, each are one hundred words.
There's a breeze blowing in through the open window as Troy shifts in his bed, the sheet pulled up to his chin. Chad gets hot way too easily; Troy's learned what he has to do whenever his friend spends the night.
"Wouldn't be so bad if you didn't always take my blanket," he says to Chad, who's lying on the floor.
"Cry me a river, Bolton."
Troy mumbles under his breath, huddling under the sheet more. Suddenly, Chad's there, on his knees beside the bed. He grins, then leans in to meet Troy's lips. It's an acceptable apology.
"Your mom might be watching."
Passing the ball to Chad, Troy glances towards his house. His mother is inside, preparing dinner (Chad's staying for it, of course), and the two are in the backyard just shooting some hoops.
"She's not," Troy says simply.
One of Chad's eyebrows quirks, but his lips have curled up into a small smile. He too glances up towards the Bolton household, but he makes his way towards Troy.
Their lips meet for only a few seconds, a soft brush, before Chad's spinning and loping away, ball bouncing. Troy grins to himself, his lips still tingling.
"I hate this."
"I think you look great."
Troy studies Chad's reflection as he stands behind him at the mirror. Getting ready for prom isn't exactly the easiest thing to do, but Chad's taking it...well, he's taking it as good as he can.
"This is lame," Chad says.
"Why?"
"Because...nevermind."
Troy knows it's because Chad wants to go to prom with him and not Taylor. But he also knows that Chad's too proud to admit it, too concerned for his rep. He supposes he doesn't blame him.
He wraps his arms around Chad's waist, running his lips along Chad's jawbone.
Moving gracefully across the floor, a smiling Gabriella before him, Troy knows he should be happy. He knows there are a lot of guys who'd kill to be in his place, twirling Gabriella around, being the one she likes.
But he can't stop thinking about Chad.
His gaze sweeps the dance floor, and he finds his best friend seated at a table with Taylor. Chad looks as bored as Troy feels, and Troy wishes he could go over there.
Taylor leans in to kiss Chad -- he doesn't push her away.
Troy bites his lip so hard he can taste blood.
