I'll try to keep it brief. Here are my talking points for the day:
1. Stores have gone from Halloween (and all its lovely goodies, *sniff*) straight to Christmas? What happened to Thanksgiving? Are we not thankful anymore? Is it all about amassing more stuff? I mean, there's bullshitty reasons behind the holiday too, but I think taking a day to be grateful that you have your health, friends, family, etc is still good.
2. Speaking of feeding your face...I get cooking magazines from my mom and o boy, they are gearing up with the holiday recipes. I am thumbing through them going "Wow, nothing here I can eat..." O.o I think I'm gonna give in to my urge to buy the oh so shiny
Veganomicon, and start beta-testing some holiday goodies.
3. Speaking of all things veg*n, I had the pleasure of dining at
Pizzeria Valdiano, which was phenomenal. When I ordered the eggplant parm sans cheese, they actually asked me if I was vegan (can they smell that on me now? Was it the skull converse tennies?) and then told me that their bread had eggs, so would I like pasta instead? Amazing. No extra charge for veganizing it. I am so going back.
4. Good thing too, as dairy still = poison. I got into some on accident and blech. I should know anything at my mom's is booby-trapped. Ugh.
