I've been brewing over ideas about the construction for the Wulst/Wulsthaube/Steuchlein &  'chin strap'**. Now I am going back and attempting to compile the various internet resources I have available from those that have made these before.

Isn't this a fun project? *evil grin* I've been trying to work out the whole Wulsthaube/Steuchlein/Bundlein thing for a while now, myself, not to mention the "When does the Wulsthaube become a Bundlein?" question ( ... )

Well, the Wulst/Wulsthaube seem to be a sort of 'general underpinnings' set up to me. The thing that has me curious is when a becomes a Steuchlein. Per the quote I did above (from the TH): "A tightly bound edge over the front of the forehead along with the decorated border (Borte) sitting on top of the hair line creates the festive Steuchlein look". Since this is in the Sturz/Bündlein section in the book - I am assuming that the extra decoration and the lower hairline covering make the difference.

I really am going to have to finally do what the icon says...*grin*

What I meant was, "when a Bündlein becomes a Steuchlein"...*rolls eyes* Sorry, it is clearly time for me to go to bed! *grin*
