There's been a lot of work done in the last couple of days. There was quite a bit of stress today over the placement of the small skylights, because it turns out the roof beams are just not quite far enough apart for both to go exactly where we want them. However, all the walls and ceilings have been plastered, and most of the room is now cleared. Obviously there's still plenty of work to do, including deciding where the skylights can go, but much of it needs the plaster to have hardened and dried out a bit. We'll probably need to run a de-humidifier in there for a few days, and the heating can only be run at minimum for a while because we don't want to crack the new floor, so it's not going to be the most comfortable of spaces for a while yet, but for the first time we're getting a bit of a feel for the room. By way of accoustic warm-up, and taking advatage of the fact that it's all hard surfaces at present, we sang a few songs in there. Miezekatze seemed a little unsure of the noises, but it sounded good to us.
Hopefully, we can now expect almost a fortnight free of building work.
