Going Places...

I caught most of the usual radio club Net on Sunday morning despite having woken up only a little before 9am after a less than entirely restful night's sleep. However, it took me quite a while to actually get moving, and in the end I decided the best bet was to have a quick lunch with my nephew and then head for the NMC rehearsal in Ely. The drive wasn't bad, and I got there just before 2:30pm. As NMC rehearsals go, it was a small gathering, but we had all parts covered so we were able to do some useful work on five or six pieces. The drive home was a bit more beset by traffic than the one up, but I got home just before 8pm, which meant I had half a chance of getting an early night.

I had another less than entirely restful night's sleep on Sunday night; a lot of dream-filled light sleep with frequent awakenings, often with urges to find lost half-remembered items or people, but on one occasion with a pressing need to check whether the big trees at the back of the house were still standing.

I headed for London at about 10:45, visited Forbidden Planet (but bought nothing), and then headed towards Oxford Circus to meet an old friend for lunch. We had a good long meal, then coffee elsewhere, and then a brief wander round parts of the Wallace Collection. Then he headed off to do some shopping and I headed off in the opposite direction to catch a train home (and fit a bit of Ingress in along the way). I got home a bit before 8pm, by which time my phone's battery was down to its last few percent. I caught this evening's GB2CW Morse practice broadcast, but filled the last line of the last page in my notebook before the last section was even half-way done. Stiil, it didn't go too badly, considering.

And now it's time for bed...

nmc, morse, traffic, radio
