On Monday I took a brisk and only slightly Ingress-diverted walk to the shops in the morning so that I could be at home during the afternoon. The engineer who was due sometime between noon and 5:30pm turned up shortly after noon. That left me with an afternoon free, but I managed to not get much done. In the evening I went to the radio club fix-it evening, chatted to a number of folk, and came home relatively early.
On Tuesday I was out of the house early to take the small car for its annual service and MOT. I came home on the bus, and it didn't take as long as I'd expected. The return trip in the afternoon was not quite as smooth, but not as severely delayed as it might have been.
Wednesday was one of those days... In the evening there was an astronomical society meeting. The talk was a historical one about an astronomically-themed selection of the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures. It was surprisingly interesting.
On Thursday morning I got a message, and then a phone call, and then my friendly tree surgeon dropped by to trim the Red Oak that has been getting in the way of my putting my new antenna up. We discovered two things about the tree; it had quite a few small dead branches in it, and the branches that aren't dead are growing rather fast. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes to grow enough to get in the antenna's way again. I spent most of the rest of the day clearing up the garden.
This morning I woke up at 5am, but managed to get back to sleep an hour or so later, and then didn't wake up 'til nearly 9am. Even so, I did manage to get a few things done, and then I headed for Petts Wood after an early lunch. First stop was the bank, and second stop was the barber's. After that I spent a while upgrading the local Ingress portals, and then came home. I spent a bit of the early evening doing a bit more tidying up in the garden, but the much-delayed antenna raising will have to wait for the morrow (at the earliest). I've had a quiet evening.
