Just because I didn't have to go to the hospital didn't mean I could avoid tedious driving tasks... First was a quick trip to the local mall to get essential supplies and visit the banks. Then a rather longer trip to deliver some insurance payments, hand a letter to a courier, and buy food for the dogs. The traffic was somewhat tedious for that one. I made use of a rat-run both ways for part of it, but some of the slow-moving (by which I mean significantly slower, on average, than walking speed) queues were unavoidable. I took advantage of that trip to get myself samosas as a snack, knowing lunch would be late. I also stopped on the way home, briefly, to clobber one of the few easily accessible Ingress portals round here.
I spent a good part of the afternoon sorting out the HF antenna. It is now up. It isn't particularly well lined-up for contacts with UK, but I could hear some UK stations along with a fair spread of ones from other countries last night, so maybe it will be OK.
It rained a little overnight. Nothing particularly heavy, but enough to dampen the grass. The small dogs woke us early (about 6am) by barking at monkeys. It was rather grey and damp at that time. NOw, three hours later, the sun is shining...
My mother is feeling rather better today.
