Getting Behind...

There was an astronomical society meeting on the evening of Thursday 28th. The talk was an interesting one about destructive meteorites and their effects on Earth's development.

On Friday the news of Joe's death became public. I don't remember much else about Friday apart from there being gaming in the evening. We played Carcassonne, and I don't remember who won, but the margin was exactly one point.

I'm sure stuff happened on Saturday and Sunday. Some of it would have involved packing and general tidying, and Ingress almost certainly took some of my time, too. The same can probably be said about the otherwise un-recorded time on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, too.

On Monday evening there was a radio club meeting. The talk was about radio propagation, and made interesting revision for me, as I'll have an Intermediate class on the subject to teach next weekend.

The package mentioned in my previous post arrived on Tuesday. Another item I'd ordered also arrived, but rather later in the day. It did, however, arrive just enough before sunset for me to get the work done in daylight.

Thursday morning's Morse practice session went, if anything, slightly better than the previous week's, but there wasn't much in it. On Thursday afternoon I headed for London and the 'Tun via Forbidden Planet. I stayed a little longer than usual at the 'Tun because I'd arranged to meet Alexandra and her twins at Liverpool Street Station when they came in from Stansted. They arrived at just after 10pm, and it took over an hour to get home, so it was a rather late night.

On Friday morning we packed the car, and I dropped them off at the station, as they planned to spend a few hours in London before catching a train to Marks Tey. I then went first to collect Miki, then to Sevenoaks to collect some Tech, then to collect Roger, and finally off to Marks Tey. Mostly, the drive went smoothly and without any major jams, and we were at the Con hotel by about 3pm...
