Ahh, vacation.
So Dad, Laurie and Rosie got here on Saturday night. I didn't get to see them until Sunday afternoon, and that day we prepared for Jaime's barbeque. Bear and Rosie just played together, and we made hot dogs, burgers and salmon for everyone (me, Jaime, Andrea, Dad, Laurie, John and Mary Whidden, Dave's parents, Jay). We also drank lots of beer, which wasn't too hard to do. It was such a beautiful day, and the barbeque turned out perfectly. At dusk, Dave took his mom and I out in the boat.
I stayed the night that night, and on Monday I was woken by a wet Bear licking my face. I got up and Laurie and I walked the doggies to the wharf where Jaime's boat is, and Rosie and Bear played on the beach together. Then we went back and drove Jaime in to work, and then we met Andrea for lunch at Stayners. After that we came up to our apartment so they could see it, and Dad had a nap while Laurie, Andrea and I did a crossword. Then we drove home, and Laurie and Andrea made a chicken salad supper, with blueberries and ice cream for dessert (yum!). Then Dave took Andrea, Jaime, Bear and I out in the boat, and we went to the mouth of the harbour where we met up with one of their boat friends, Mark. We fished with him, but didn't get anything. Then we headed home and went to bed.
Tuesday morning I woke up to Rosie trotting around my air mattress. Jaime, Dad, Laurie and I took the doggies to Crystal Crescent Beach to run around and wear themselves out. They had a great time, and I collected some beach glass and driftwood. We went home and bathed the doggies, then Dad and I took Jaime into work, and did some shopping (blank CD's, stamps). We headed back to Jaime's, and the three of us cleaned Jaime's place up for her. Later that night, we went to The Old Triangle for supper. Jay, Andrea, Dave, Me, Gill, Dad and Laurie - it was great! Then I came back to my apartment for the first night since Dad got here to await Joe's arrival from Montreal. His flight was delayed because of lightning storms, but he got in around 2:30am.
Which brings us to today. Andrea is coming to pick Joe and I up, and we're meeting Jaime, Dad and Laurie at Stayners for lunch. Then we plan to get a tour of the Dal campus from Andrea, maybe go to some museums.
Joe had a phone interview this morning with Keane. They seem SO eager to hire him, it's like they're jumping up and down. He did very well, and he's in today at 4:00 for a real interview. Here's hoping - cos that would be a wicked job!
I have all this week off, so I can spend all the time I want with Dad! :)
