So I went to dinner with beast last night. It was totally worth it. I really forgot how much i miss hanging out with that group of friends. I mean, I know that i'm really bad about switching back and forth between the different groups of friends I hang out with (mostly because its really hard to join all those people who are SOO different); but does that mean i have to exclusively spend months at a time with each group? I think not.
I was so excited to feel short when he got out of his truck -- Richard and Katy and Walt and Rick are all under 6ft and Richard and Katy are both shorter than me so it was very nice to not be taller than most of the people I was with. But seriously, aside from the fact that he is just tall; he made me miss that intellectual (well, in a way intellectual) conversation and comradery that I miss. It made me not think of all the things that I usually have to disucss, real world stuff like logistics of everybody getting to work or making sure that the one friend who isn't working can run errands for the rest of us. I just got to be myself and not worry about anything for a while. It was nice.
So in honor of that, anybody who would like to join me for dinner who will be in town on Saturday, May 12 (not this saturday, next saturday) is welcome to come by the house that night. Touch base with me in the next week and let me know if you want to come by.
OH -- AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO PRAY: please pray for ricky's little brother. He fell 25 feet through the roof they were working on yesterday. he has a fluid build up on his brain stem. no other injuries, but that is a pretty tall order all by itself. they've held him 24 hours and now they are talking about 24 more. the whole family is on edge, so please pray.
