So, -2F this morning. This means:
- thigh-high socks
- long underwear (silk)
- wool socks
- corduroy pants
- wind pants over that
- silk long-sleeved undershirt
- silk/cashmere pullover
- wool pullover
- fleece button-up (not for wearing in the office, just for the walking outside to the T)
- wind-proof but not terribly warm coat, which has generally done me well this winter
- fleece balaclava
- wool scarf
- normal gloves (which I momentarily wished I'd swapped out for my heavy mittens which I bought for cycling in the winter)
Results: My butt was still a little chilled, because the coat only just covers it, and that was the least layered part of my clothing. Also, the bit of my face - eyes and area around them - that didn't have balaclava covering it was briefly quite unhappy. I think there were moments when water from my eyes was freezing on my lashes.
I am glad these cold temps are not lasting, because I don't like having to put 3+ sets of clothing on in one morning. AND extra outer layers. It takes too damn long.
