More details about what still needs to happen, like writing a lot of new policy (one might think the policy might have already been fucking DRAFTED UP, all ready to go, just in case, and perhaps it has been, but this article makes it sound like this is all a big surprise and it'll take a while to deal with). And since same-sex marriage is not allowed on a federal level, this has all sorts of still-not-equal aspects to it.
Meanwhile, the ban on serving while openly gay is still in effect, and will be, until the new regs are written and approved and etc. Or until the Commander in Chief issues an executive order stopping all discharges under DADT. I believe he could do that, if he wanted to.
And, under the UCMJ, sodomy (which in this document includes oral sex, y'all) is still a court martialable offense.
Also: this does not affect transgender members of the service; they are still subject to being kicked out.
