As a writer, I appreciate having a Yuletide likes/dislikes post for my recipient, so I thought I'd post one of my own in case it helps

Sorry I missed you before you left; let me know when you get in. It's raining cats and dogs right now and dropped into the 60s (yesterday was so humid I had to put the AC on).
On AO3, if you look at a user's profile, you can see a gifts link on the left hand side. That is any gifts, not just for Yuletide, but if you review the gifts you can sort of tell. There's a 'collection' tag and if you click that, it will take you to the Yuletide year it was written for (or for whatever fest the fic was for).
You can look up any recipient alphabetically, which is nice.
As far as stories go - I've always received excellent stories, which is one reason I keep playing. This is my very first gift, in the tv show Life fandom: http://yuletidetreasure.org/archive/71/abasket.html
Now in general, I don't care for fluff or romance, but if you read this story, it's semi-fluffy and romantic. It fit the characters perfectly. It was a wonderful story. That's why I always try and make it clear in my letter that I will love anything that is written for me. Just the fact that someone takes the time to do it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside ;-)
As a writer, you know how I try and stalk my recipient, trying to find out the types of stories they like to read and write. I never want to write something that's going to squick my recipient, but if they like non/dub-con and p0rn, you know that's probably what I'll write.
