Ark's got pneumonia after having bronchiolitis or maybe it was pneumonia all along...all started on Tuesday when we got hitched @ City Hall...have been worried sick and crying and I'm tired and he's so little and doctor wants to hospitalize him but I've been able to treat at home for now with constant nebulizer inhalations, medications, and what

okay. ark is very young. hospitalizing/iv treatments may be what he needs, despite you and alex being the most awesome parents with the neb/meds/keeping him hydrated. do you have a humidifer/air purifier in your apt? i know you were dealing with temp regulation? perhaps take ark in bathroom when you shower so steam helps? is there anything i can do tomorrow night or tuesday night for you?

I really trust my pediatrician and we see him daily, spend lots of time there medicating and I trust him to evaluate our ability to treat at home...as far as I know, one must avoid hospitals like the flu when they're infants as they can catch something worse or get a complication there..

thanks for clarifying - you mentioned that dr wants to hospitalize in your initial post, i guess i misread - if dr is advocating home treatment that's great. i think i initially thought that you were hometreating though doc thought it best to hospitalize.

no, he wants to avoid the hospital as well
just doesn't really trust parents to do things properly
but i've been able to convince him
as Ark was a bit better yesterday (fingers crossed)
and we're going again for an evaluation today
