Alec leaned his head lightly against Jace’s shoulder. They were in Jace’s room now, huddled on the bed, a plate of chocolate Christmas cookies propped between them. Already, Alec felt slightly better; Jace’s easy going humor always affected him this way.
“Alec, I’m sorry about Magnus.” Jace whispered.
Alec turned and saw the seriousness within the man’s golden eyes.
“It’s not your fault. You were drunk, I wasn’t.”
“Don’t do that, Alec. Don’t make excuses for me.”
Jace nibbled thoughtfully on a sugar dusted confection before continuing.
“I kissed you because I wanted to, just like I still want to...”
