Saturday Endeavors

I got out of work at 6 today.. and I had lots I wanted to accomplish!

I got gas for $2.16/gallon at Mobil on Rt. 136 in Swansea... I love the fact that I was near empty and it cost me under $25 for a full tank. Lovely.

Drove into Providence to return the world's most expensive throw pillow at Pottery Barn, but hit massive traffic getting into the mall. Tonight I think was the last WaterFire for the season and tonight it was in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The RI Statehouse, the exterior is of white Georgia marble, was cast with hot pink flood lights shining into every known crevice on the structure. It was beautifully done. There was a swarm of people on the front steps with torches walking down the brick walk towards Francis Street and then over to Waterplace Park where the WaterFire was taking place.

I ran through the mall, returned my pillow, and proceeded to escape the parking lot.

Afterwards, the streets were so clogged with traffic, I ended up taking a mighty big detour through the East Side and College Hill since I know the roundabouts through Providence (while trying to avoid downtown). I stopped on Thayer Street at Sushi Express for a really quick 'dinner' because I had no lunch today and a small breakfast and I was starving. I know why I'm losing weight.... I don't eat and when I do, it's sushi. Bah!

I drove over to Seekonk and bought a bedskirt and bathrugs at Target. Then I poked through Homegoods for some odds and ends.

I had a breakthrough last night with my room. I am going to donate all of my furniture since I have no room for it, plus it is only making me crazy for lack of room. I want to anchor my bed on the large wall with a fabric panel behind it as a headboard. I am going to get opalescent sheets of paper and staple them to the wall... over that I will pleat and nail muslin panels over it... that way there is some light reflecting off of the opalescent paper through the muslin. That will be my headboard. Over my bed, I will trim the panel with a fabric swag of an undetermined print... probably a paisley or something... Directly over my bed, I will anchor into the ceiling a pendant lamp either for candle or electric light. I saw both tonight... trying to decide which I want to do.. probably the candle light. Meanwhile, I will finally have space in my closet to hang things and I will get a modular storage piece... probably the California Closet system they have at Target... all concealed. I do not have a large room, and I am still young... let me save up some money to buy a nice bedroom set... until then, I am going with sleek and clean. No more clutter!

I have a large bag filled with clothes I need to donate to charity.

That was my Saturday. My room is 98% clear of clutter... there is dust, but that's an ongoing issue.

Night!
