update 3 on the 651/612 storm for tonight and tomorrow #MNWX

Going off of last night's progression, the dropping temperatures and the precipitation times in the metro, they are all still on, as well as some ice-under-snow problems for the drive in and the drive home. As for the snow amounts though, we're only looking at the following in the metro:

• near 1" in the northwest metro
• 1-2" in the twin cities
• 2-4" in Cottage Grove and Hastings

as for the heavier amounts of 4-8", it looks like that's headed for Eau Claire, Red Wing, Owatonna, and Rochester. But one thing to keep in mind for narrow bands like this: move it just slightly, and the results can be drastically different. but as for right now, that's th e latest.

sorry to get your hopes up for high snow amounts, but the cold snap is still coming, as well as the trend on icing of the roads. so remain vigilant when you head to and from work or school tomorrow.
