"A little something to help his education along," Zach said vaguely, waving one hand in dismissal. "I'll give it to him next time I see him."

[mommy_hannah]

Hannah raised an eyebrow and nudged him again with her foot. "Come on, tell me. I'm his mother. I have to approve all gifts."

[zarcastic]

"Alright, alright," Zach sighed. He pulled the book out of his pocket and handed it to her. "Shakespeare's plays. It's nothing, really."

[mommy_hannah]

Her eyes got wide as she set her fork down and took the book to flip through it. Sure enough, it was the collective works of Shakespeare. "Shakespeare? He's five. I don't even understand Shakespeare. But you can have fun reading it to him."

[zarcastic]

"I keep telling you, Han, he'll love it," Zach said, returning to his fish. "I was halfway through my father's library at that age."

[mommy_hannah]

"Well then I bow to your intellect," she said, handing the book back. "I don't know if he'll still be awake when we get back, but you can certainly drop by anytime and give it to him."

[zarcastic]

"I'll do that," Zach agreed with a grin, tucking the book back into his pocket. "You're welcome to read it too, you know."

[mommy_hannah]

She grinned and took another bite, followed by more wine. "Only if you read it to me too."

[zarcastic]

"Gladly," Zach said, preening. "I'm told I have a rather hypnotic voice."

[mommy_hannah]

"I'll be the judge of that," she teased, finishing off her glass and smiling when it instantly refilled. "I like this place."

[zarcastic]

"No one is allowed to judge me but me," he retorted. "Unless you approve."

He looked around. "It is rather nice, isn't it? I'm glad you like it."

[mommy_hannah]

She smiled and giggled. "Of course I approve."

"I do like it. Thank you," she said a bit more seriously.

[zarcastic]

"You're welcome, of course; I chose it for you," Zach said, smiling at her. "I hope you enjoy the play, too. It's the Taming of the Shrew, in musical format. And an added storyline about the actors, as well."

[mommy_hannah]

"I'm sure I'll love it," she said, finishing off the last of her meal. "Even if I haven't read it."

[zarcastic]

"You don't have to have read it," Zach assured her. He looked down at his plate; his fish was only 2/3 of the way gone, but he wasn't very hungry anymore so he set his fork down at the same time she did and picked up his wine instead. "I'll read it to you later, remember?"

Hannah nodded and sipped her wine. "So, any chance of getting anything chocolate here?"
