Summary: Regulus enacts an American Halloween tradition.
Regulus heard that in America, on Halloween, children were permitted the things their parents always exhorted them not to do. They wore funny-looking clothes and approached strangers' homes asking them for candy. It was their holiday for witches and, he presumed, wizards. It was the holiday when one did not have to pretend to be less than one truly was.
There would be a feast in the Great Hall, of course, but he wanted to do something special this year. His friends would not know to request candy, but he could provide it unasked!
On the great day, his huge parcel of chocolate frogs arrived by breakfast owl and he hurriedly tucked them away. He left class, claiming a headache and snuck into the Great Hall, set for the feast. He opened each packet and carefully trapped a frog under each Slytherin's cup, sliding its card beneath it.
They all wore their best robes, and a Black could not really dress in an outré costume, so he forewent that American tradition. When the Slytherins sat down and turned over their dishes before the food appeared, there was delicious pandemonium, and Reggie sat back, beaming proudly at all his friends.
