Summary: Hermione makes the most of the day when the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest.

Hermione had the exact same pattern every Halloween since she had started working as an Unspeakable. Near midnight she would slip into The Death Chamber alone. And with the right application of spells, the Veil would open.
The first time Hermione tried the spell, it failed miserably. The second time she managed to draw out and return ten or twelve people before she finally found the right one. But it was nearly ten years since her first try, and it was not difficult for her to call Sirius out of the icy grip of death.
The moment he passed through the archway, he became solid. It had taken years of practice, but the two of them had found that practice makes perfect. And preparation made it easier to make the most of the short amount of time they had together.
It hadn't started this way. She had wanted to talk to him. But after a few years it came down to the inevitable. Hermione's robes dropped before Sirius actually reached her. His clothes were thrown aside on his approach. They had twenty minutes, perhaps less. Talk was useless when there was so much more that could be said this way.
