"They've done it for years in America," Luna said.
"It sounds like begging," said Neville uncertainly, but Ron's eyes were huge.
"Bloody brilliant! I'm going," Ron volunteered.
Hermione gave him a half-fond, half-exasperated look. "I'm not sure we should leave Grimmauld Place, but if we all go..."
"But not around here." Luna smiled mysteriously.
On Halloween night, the six friends were dressed and waiting for Luna to tell them where to Apparate. Ron was fussing over Hermione's Muggle witch costume, sure she'd have come up with something cleverer.
When Luna told everyone where to go, Harry burst out laughing.
"I was worried you'd think it was a bad idea."
"S'perfect." He took Ginny's arm and Neville Apparated with Luna. Seconds later, they arrived in the park near Magnolia Crescent.
"We seem a bit old," Hermione observed, spying a group of children.
Luna shook her head, pointing. "Those people look about our age."
"That one's huge," Ron said. "Hey, isn't that..."
"My cousin Dudley."
"What's he doing?" Ron wanted to know.
"Taking candy from smaller children," Ginny said, disgusted.
"Not for much longer," Harry responded, drawing his wand. Ron and Neville followed, with Hermione behind them.
"What? I hate bullies, too."
