"Working late, Miss Granger?"
"Just a bit longer."
"On Hallowe'en? Surely you've a party to go to."
Hermione thought of Luna's invitation, currently in use as a bookmark in "Holidays with Hags." She'd told Luna she had no idea what she would wear. Come as you are, you're already magical.
Hermione was about to reply when an Auror burst into the room.
"There's an emergency!"

"Veelas, goblins, ghosts, you name it," the head Auror grumbled. "We've had calls before where someone invites a werewolf to their Hallowe'en party to raise a few eyebrows, but this is a bloody zoo."
"Should we really be referring to these beings as a zoo?" Hermione retorted. She stopped in her tracks. Hermione recognized the young woman holding the tail of her dragon costume.
"Oh!" Luna said. "You didn't say you'd be bringing guests! I'll introduce them to the vampire Kneazles. They may bite, but it's probably impolite to ask."
Her heart skipped a beat as Luna took her hand and squeezed it gently. Hermione blushed, unable to hide her smile.
"You might say I invited everyone simply to get the one person I wanted to see the most."
