Notes: rzzmg, it was excruciatingly hard to fit a zombie apocalypse into 200 words but I tried my best. :)
The Forbidden Forest could not keep the Resurrection Stone hidden. Magic is drawn to power, and naturally Hermione found it first. Stray Death Eaters had discovered her parents in Australia; her father survived, her mother didn't. Consumed by guilt and grief, Hermione knew the stone for what it was and took her chance.
Theo was homeless, starving. Fate guided his hand when he stole Hermione's purse. His bad fortune had begun with his father's death. He didn't think twice about using the Stone.
Afterwards, he gave it to Draco. The Malfoy heir had appeared in Diagon Alley, sunken eyes, a scraggly beard. A kind soul had committed him to St Mungo's. It took mere days until Draco recalled Vincent from the dead.
St Mungo's was burning to the ground. The Spellbreakers could barely keep the pale Fiendfyre contained. Vincent saw skeletal shapes in it, a huge black bird, a giant with a scythe.
The Three gathered in the Forbidden Forest, they advanced towards Dumbledore's grave. There the Elder Wand lay waiting. A resurrected life was less than half a life, all that air and burning light. But when Stone met Wand, they knew, Death would return them to the dark.
