Tacky art of toffee apples decorated the walls as Draco walked into the masquerade ball with Pansy on his arm. He didn't necessarily want to be there, but she'd insisted for him to come along since he couldn't come up with the right excuse to say no.
As soon as she spotted the man she was chasing after, she left Draco alone. He immediately regretted the decision to attend. He could leave; no one would notice. He didn't care for the primitive superstition that you couldn't leave a masquerade party before the first dance or something bad would happen. Like no sex for a year.
Draco rolled his eyes, starting to make his way out, when a man with dark hair, a silver mask, and green eyes blocked his way.
"Leaving already?"
"What do you want, Potter?"
"Nothing special. How about a dance?"
Draco didn't get a chance to reply as Potter grabbed him by the arm and whisked him to the middle of the room. His grip was light on Draco when he leaned down and whispered in Draco's ear, "You lead."
Draco thought maybe staying for a few extra minutes would be tolerable.
He stayed long into the night.
