I was a BAD girl....

I mean, seriously....bad girl.

You see, Joann's was having a sale last week. 40% off Keepsake Calico...and trust me....that's a good deal.

But I talked myself out of going over the weekend because I had gone by on Friday (when the sale was still going) and didn't feel the need to buy more than what I went in for... (1/2 a yard of sparkles...)

However, a flyer caught my eye on Sunday....for a 50% off sale...and I spent most of Sunday afternoon/evening trying to talk myself into....and out of going....

I mean, there wasn't anything I really NEEDED.  But 50% off is a SPECTACULAR deal....

I talked to Mom about it...and I dithered on the website, checking the sale fabrics to see if anything called to me...and in the end....Mom told me this morning to GO to the store...because I would regret it if I didn't.

So, I got up pretty darn early for a day off....(Presidents' Day holiday from work).  And discovered it was snowing ...AGAIN. It snowed most of Saturday...and though it was supposed to warm up Tuesday...we were getting hit pretty hard.

A smart person would have turned around and gone back inside. I ...cleared off my car and drove to Joann's.  I managed to get there just after they opened. Once there, I called Mom to let her know I made it...and she told me to shop quick.

It took me a moment to get my bearings...but it was pretty dead in the store, so I started loading up basics...tonals and marbles...because hey, 50% off. I avoided big prints (as I don't seem to use those much)...and made my way to the cutting counter.

I had decided to purchase 1/2 yards of most of the pieces I picked up. Since it was such a good sale going, I found myself agreeing to a few remnants because 50% off AND 50% off the sale price? I'm not stupid...that's a good damn deal.

In the end, I think I had over 2 dozen cuts of fabric...because reasons...

I had one cut that wasn't on sale, and I had a coupon for 40% off that.  Then I found a coupon for 15% off my total order INCLUDING sale priced items... SCORE!!!

I walked out with just over 23 yards of fabric...and spent less than $80. So, really, around $3.50/yd? REALLY good deal. And I checked my receipt...and saved over $100....so I saved more than I spent!!!!

When I got to my car, I discovered a nice layer of ice...so I tucked my bag in my car and dug out my scraper. The trip home was uneventful, if a bit white knuckled, because by that time the "snow" had turned into ice pellets.

From what was said around FB later in the day, I picked the best part of the day to go because it was AWFUL later. In fact, by the time Mom came home around 4:30, she got stuck in the drive because it was built up just enough that her wee car had no traction to get up the slight incline our drive has.

So, yeah...both smart and stupid to do what I did today, but I'm okay with it.

I will show off my fabric choices tomorrow on TTMT....

whoops, uhoh..., fabric
