So was I. If anyone seemed capable of taking care of themselves it was Mad-Eye. Also it happened so early in the book. I knew their was going to be a high body count but I figured I'd have a couple 100 pages to prepare for it.

It seemed to work in reverse with the Horcrux hunt - it took them half the book to destroy the first one, by which time half the books casualties were gone. Peculiar way to go about things, but I did like it :)
Maybe that's why Mad-Eye got the poison pen - because he seemed so invincible?
