Tonks finally found Lupin, in the heart of the fight, using spells even she, as an Auror had never learned. He was amazing, so much more than she had ever imagined. Her heart swelled with a fierce pride as she raised her wand. She would be amazing too. They would win and build a world where their child would never know shame.
She raised her wand and a hand caught her wrist. A woman who looked like her mother gone mad.
“My sister’s girl, my own sweet niece,” Bellatrix Lestrange hissed. “You’ve dishonored my blood for long enough. Avada Kedavra!”
