The door banged open and everyone sat up with a start. Leaning on the doorposts of Grimmauld Place was the sagging form of Hogwarts’ former Potions Master. He was dripping with muck and blood.
Harry roared and rose to his feet, only to be pulled back by a gaping Hermione. Ron was muttering and was turning as red as his hair. Fleur drew herself to Bill’s side, and his arm automatically encircled her waist in a protective grip. The rest of the Weasleys unconsciously moved to protect their youngest. Moody reached for his wand. Tonks’ hair turned white.
Remus smiled.

She sighed, waving her wand gently over the bruises on the young witch. Two hours into the battle and she felt like she had been treating an endless parade of fighters.
Tears came to her eyes. These were the warriors of the light. They were incredibly strong and brave, limping out to the field once healed, unmindful of the pain.
The door burst open and she gasped audibly.
“Third degree burns? Please lay him gently on this bed.”
“Oh, Hagrid…I’m so sorry…”
