"Yeah, but not for a 10 - hour drive!"
"Well, if you hadn't crashed your broom into a tree -" Ron glared at her - "we could have flown there. It's too far to Apparate."
"What are you reading, Hermione?" Harry asked.
She looked up. "Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. Very interesting novel. Why?"
"Whatever it is, put it down and KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD!" he screamed, as Hermione had to swerve to avoid an oncoming lorry.

"Why are you waving your arms around like that?" asked Zacharias.
"It's called Semaphore." Luna explained. "It's a code."
"OK, but why do you need it in the dark? Air traffic control?"
"You wanted to know why we were going for a walk in the moonlight. So I was telling you, but in Semaphore, because it's more interesting. WE. ARE. WALKING. IN. THE. MOONLIGHT. BECAUSE ..." She demonstrated with her arms.
"What was the answer, then?" he inquired with a smile.
"I can't remember now." Luna said honestly.
Zacharias shrugged. "Oh well," he said, and leaned over to kiss her anyway.

House: Ravenclaw
Word Count: 100
Challenge: On the Road
Characters: Colin Creevey, with mention of his mother
Rating: G
It had taken him months. He'd gone through a lot to get there, but at last he'd managed it. As hard as it had been, he felt the best thing now would be to go back and do it again. Then he'd know he'd REALLY done it, and that he wasn't scared.
"Colin!" his Mum shouted. "It's going to rain! Bring that bike in at once!"
It would have to wait till tomorrow now. Never mind. That still didn't change the fact he'd ridden all the way down the street, without stabilisers.
How many six - year - olds could say that?
