Hermione nodded. They headed for the distressed Beauxbatons student standing in the courtyard.
Before they could reach her, however, Neville stopped and asked her a question.
“Is he speaking French?” Ginny whispered in astonishment.
“Apparently.”
The girl’s face lit in a grateful smile before she walked away.
“Neville Longbottom, you never told us you spoke French!” Hermione exclaimed.
Neville turned pink. “Relatives,” he explained. “Gran insisted…”
“Girls love a guy who can talk in two languages,” Ginny teased.
Neville’s blush deepened. “I can barely talk to girls in English.”
