Staggering through the streets, face streaked with tears, she remembered. She remembered his smile, his laugh, his scent as he leaned in towards her. She felt him everywhere, in every part of her, sparking energy wherever he touched.
The taste of potion on her tongue when he kissed her, the burning guilt when she noticed the flicker in his eyes, the battle within him. She knew it couldn’t last. Not when there was a child.
Remember that horror on his face when she stopped it… remember his shouts, his rage, his disgust. Remember running, sobbing, needing but never having.
