A/N: Well, alright, maybe some people do use the word “kitsch” on a regular basis but I don’t. And yes, this is my second drabble today.
Daphne hated these parties. It was nice of Malfoy to invite her but she really only said yes for politeness’ sake. The garish decorations often made her slightly sick. Wealth, she decided, did not equal taste.
She squeezed through the crowds until she found Blaise Zabini by the punch bowl.
“This sucks, doesn’t it?” he said by way of greeting.
“Yeah.” She sighed. “It’s so… kitsch.”
Blaise stared. “It’s what?”
Daphne smiled slightly. “Kitsch: bad taste, tacky.”
“It’s so awful that you have to pull out of your vocabulary a word you never use?”
She nodded glumly. “Yes. That bad.”
