Months of arduous labor, searching the dreary countryside for obscure tchochkes. It seemed the rain would never end, the mud would never dry, there would never be a comfortable bed or a hot meal. Hideously complex and painful challenges to get the knickknacks out of their hiding places, and worse spells to destroy them.
In the end, though, it was almost too easy.
Severus left a snake in Voldemort’s room.
“A friend for Nagini.” A simple pat of a reptilian head and he found himself on a hillside surrounded by his enemies. He was dead before he drew his wand.
