Severus was baffled as to why the boy insisted on liquoring him up first. Really, the Firewhiskey had little effect on the stoic potionsmaster. He hadn’t been drunk since his fifth year-unless you counted that unfortunate Halloween with Lucius, which Severus didn’t. Perhaps, he thought, it’s for his benefit, and not mine. That made more sense.
He watched as the boy smiled peacefully. Severus envied him briefly, but beckoned the boy to move closer. He had to lean down to kiss the boy, but kiss they did, and more.
The half-empty bottle of alcohol gleamed, forgotten, in the firelight.
