As pranks went, she guessed it wasn’t a terrible one. A flurry of yellow feathers, long enough to get a laugh, and a quick molt back to normal.
It still left a bitter taste in her mouth. Neville had laughed with the rest, true, but Ginny knew it had been a long and stressful day. A person should be able to eat at a party in their own House without turning into a canary.
Ginny corners her brothers on the stairs.
“It was just a joke,” they explain.
“Well, don’t do it again,” she says, eyes flashing. “Not to Neville.”
