Family Secrets

Fourteenth (and therefore last) drabble. I wrote about a very, very obscure character from OotP this time.

Title: Family Secrets
Characters/Pairings: Andrew Kirke; mention of the Weasley twins
Rating: G
House: Hufflepuff
Word Count: 100
Challenge: What's in a Name

After the Weasley twins left school so spectacularly, Andrew replaced George on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, becoming one of the new Beaters.

Some people remarked on his sudden rise, complaining that he wasn't as good as the twins--nothing special at all. Andrew only smiled privately, for there was something extraordinary about him, even though his housemates didn't seem to know it.

After all, how many wizards had uncles who had met Jadis, Empress of Charn, and had invented a means of traveling between dimensions?

How many could say that their great-grandfathers witnessed Aslan's creation of Narnia?

***

[N.B. Yes, I do think that JKR did this on purpose as a shout-out to C.S. Lewis. Andrew Kirke is the eponymous magician of The Magician's Nephew (a villain who later reforms somewhat), and Digory Kirke (who becomes the Professor Kirke that the Pevensie children encounter in later books, and who does indeed witness the creation of Narnia) is Andrew Kirke's nephew.]
