Eileen Snape tended the cut on Severus’ forehead. After another round of teasing by the neighborhood bullies, and her child had fought them in Muggle fashion.
“What was it about this time?” Eileen asked as she held her fidgeting son in her lap.
“Snivellous,” her son answered. “They called me that again.”
Eileen sighed. “You are named after powerful caesars, and saints who were revered. You share the name of warriors wizards who carried it proudly. Don’t listen to those arses.”
Severus nodded. “Next time I want to fight like my ancestors.”
Eileen cradled her son. “Next time you will.”
