Title: Scoffing at Rules
Character[s]: Tom Riddle
Rating: PG
Challenge: Bound
House: Hufflepuff
Word Count:
Author's Notes:

He could see the sense they intended by the rules. They were so weak, the muggles. So helpless.

Rules had never helped Tom Riddle; so he saw no reason to obey them. Marriage was a rule, and his muggle filth father had disobeyed that rule. His smitten idiot of a mother had broken the rule to cause the marriage. And where did that leave him? An orphaned halfbreed, unwanted.

There were rules against hurting the other orphans, but he needed practice.

Because one day -- the only rules would be his.

And refusing to be bound by those -- would mean death.
