Author's Notes: I rather envision this taking place toward the beginning of the Order of the Phoenix reconvening; I doubt Sirius took too well to being cooped up in the house. ;)
He was decidedly leery at the thought of transforming so near to a crowd, but it was time.
Inevitable.
The only way he’d find release was to give in.
Human scents - varying, unique, numerous - assaulted his heightened senses, and he barreled through a forest of legs. Reaching his quarry, he sat back on his haunches and howled.
“Need to go out, boy?”
A hand reached past, ready to open the door.
Before it could open, Lupin grabbed Padfoot by the scruff of the neck, dragging the fugitive-turned-black-dog back through the foyer.
“Nice try, Sirius, but Dumbledore said to stay put.”
